Social Networking Services likely to become stronger than Search Engines

According to a study at hitwise Australia the usage of social networking platforms becomes as important for the user as the use of internet search engines. It can be assumed that it happened for the first time in the Christmas week 2009 that social networking platforms have been more frequented than search engines.

hitwise’s prophecy for 2010 at the end of their blog entry is:

“2010 is set to be another year of strong growth for the Social Networking and Forums category, and for marketers the challenge is to effectively participate and generate word of mouth that has measurable and effective business outcomes.
